The premieres of the 3D shows on the front facade of the Zurich Opera House fascinated and delighted spectators and passers-by on Saturday night.
The projection shows on the classical facade of the 123-year-old opera building will no doubt be highlights of the week-long City Festival on Sechseläutenplatz. The Zurich agency "PROJEKTIL" and the Vienna artist collective "Lichttapete" are clearly masters of their genre. They put months of work into their shows; the result is “lightletics” at the highest level. Athletics arena Letzigrund Stadium and “lightletics“ arena Zurich Opera House – two fantastic Zürich 2014 venues!
The 3D shows are a feast for the eyes. They will be shown every night at 10pm and at 23.15pm. While the artist teams take turns with their shows, they have a common motto: Athletics meets art.
In its 15-minute show, "PROJEKTIL" displays aspects of running, jumping and throwing. Slow motion pictures of athletes in action coalesce with ballet sequences filmed for the purpose. The film sequences feature the renowned principal dancer Viktorina Kapitonova. The Austrian artists of "Lichttapete" will treat you with an exciting digital fireworks display. Both shows will prompt the Zürich 2014 credo in the crowd on Sechseläutenplatz every night: Wooow!!!!!
